Medicare Explanations

Medicare Advantage Plan is a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with all your Part A and Part B benefits. (Some include Prescription Drug Plans).

Medicare Supplemental Plans help cover some or all medical expenses not paid by Medicare parts A & B.

  • May help limit your annual out-of-pocket medical expenses.
  • Do not require a referral to see a specialist.

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans are also known as Medicare Part D. Medicare Part D is a government program that helps cover the cost of most prescription drugs and is available to those eligible for Medicare. Original Medicare Parts A and B does not include prescription drug coverage.

Final Expense Plans are different from long term insurance, hospital indemnity plans, or annuities, final expense plans are designed to cover the costs of a funeral and memorial service. These plans are often purchased by those near to death without a traditional life insurance policy in place. It is not medical insurance or any other type of Medicare health insurance but can often be confused with them.
